I had the great pleasure to go to Roan Mountain for the blooming of the rhododendrons. Roan Mountain straddles the North Carolina and Tennessee border and has the world's largest natural garden of rhododendrons, which typically bloom during the middle of June. The Appalachian Trail runs along Roan Mountain and these photographs are along three of the balds (a mountain meadow with thick grass and very little tree coverage) Round, Jane, and Grassy balds. My favorite was Jane bald, about a mile hike from the start point in Carver's Gap.
When purchasing photos, please note that Metal Prints are highly recommended. They are printed on a sheet of aluminum, provide a high-gloss, brilliant finish and don't need to be framed! Metal prints are located under wall art (not paper prints) when purchasing photos.
